Education

  • B.S in in Materials Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology (SCUT) Guangzhou, China

Research Interests

  • Electrochemistry
  • Lithium ion batteries
  • Nanostructured materials

Research Experience

  • Fabricated a Si-graphene nanosheets (GNs) composite for LIBs anode by discharge plasma assisted milling. Highlights: (i) discovering that GNs could easily be peeled from the common graphite by the cutting effect of mechanical milling and thermal explosion of discharging plasma; (ii) achieving structural control by adjusting the milling time.
  • Designed an advanced amorphous-Si/WC@Graphene (SW@G) composite for LIBs anode by two-step milling. Highlights: observing that the rigid and conductive WC particles could assist the amorphization of microsized Si in milling process and act as the “cornerstone” to strengthen the inside structure during cycling.
  • Developed a carbon-coated Si/graphene nanocomposite for LIBs anode from Si nanoparticles, expandable graphite, and sucroce by wet-milling and pyrolysis.
    Professional skills
 Familiar with common experimental operation, including mechanical milling, electrode coating, cell assembling and testing.
 Excellent in microstructure characterization techniques: XRD, Raman, DSC, SEM, TEM.
 Three years experience in maintaining experimental instruments i.e. batteries tester (Land), electrochemical workstation (Gamry), SEM (Carl Zeiss), glove box.
